Broken Cross is the district around the Chester Road junction on the west side of Macclesfield. The name comes from the crossroads. Around it are semis, detached houses and a few flats, mostly with drives and front gardens. Side roads run off the main road towards Whirley and towards Henbury. The junction itself is busy. The streets behind it are quieter, with the usual estate habit of cars parked half on the pavement.

From 34 Market Pl we take Chester Road west. It is a short drive. We do not unload on the crossroads. If you have a drive, we use it when the van fits. If the drive is steep or shared, or the close has a turning circle full of cars, tell us. A sofa carry from the corner is normal. Blocking Chester Road is not.

House moves are the main work. Garages full of tools and lofts full of boxes change the size of the job, so count them. Flats on this side are usually simpler than town-centre conversions, but they can still have a stair and no lift. Packing is optional. Many people here box the bedrooms and ask for help with the kitchen only.

Whirley Primary is on Whirley Road. Fallibroome Academy is on Priory Lane, a little nearer Upton, and is the secondary many families ask about. West Park is the park, north towards Prestbury Road. The library and station are in the centre. Council tax and bins are Cheshire East. On the day, keep the drive clear of your own car if you want the van on it.
